Chris has been running his “digitaljournal.com” website for several years, where he accepts money from third parties like Otter PR to post favorable stories and content about them… sometimes under the /pr/ link structure, and sometimes not. In no case does he reveal that the content was sponsored, which is exactly why so many spammers and SEO guys pay him…
The business model is entirely illegal in both the US and Canada, where Chris is from, and is considered consumer fraud (accepting money for endorsements without any disclosures)

On LinkedIn he claims to have received “multiple” journalism awards in college… not sure if that’s true, but seems strange. The glowing review of himself he posted (and later deleted) praising his being the youngest EIC in Canadian history fails to mention that he is literally the founder of Digital Journal:
