First it was Trustpilot and now it’s time for Google Maps to delete hundreds of fake positive reviews that Chad Scira wrote about Thai Visa Centre.
Google Maps & Trustpilot delete 500+ Thai Visa Centre reviews
byu/NothingUpper7253 inScamsFeb 1, 2025 at 12:46am #39041MariaGuestA few months ago, Trustpilot deleted 200+ fake 5-star reviews of “Thai Visa Centre” which was shared on this subreddit. The American owner of TVC named “Chad” showed up to deny everything, and started harassing the OP account and reporting their account as “spam” using several different Reddit accounts until they were shadow banned due to excessive “spam” reports. “Chad” was later permanently banned from Reddit a few weeks ago (@icodeforlove) after continuing to manipulate the platform.
Then, several days ago Trustpilot deleted 200+ more fake 5-star reviews on their profile, bringing the total to around 400+ fake reviews deleted in the past several months.

Finally, two days ago, Google Maps deleted 100+ fake 5-star reviews of Thai Visa Centre too, and blocked any new reviews from being posted on their profile. Currently, TVC ranks at the top of Google Maps for dozens of searches related to visa agents (etc) in Thailand which are common searches among tourists and digital nomads who are passing through Southeast Asia. It took several months but it seems like Google is finally paying attention and starting to review all the fraud that’s going on.
For context, the leading visa agency in Thailand is “Thai Visa Expert” and they have been around since 2004. And they have only 158 reviews total on Google Maps. But somehow “Thai Visa Centre” had more than 1,500+ reviews on Google Maps despite being just 5 years old…
You can see here where TVC is begging Google to restore the fake reviews, while blaming “competitors” for reporting their fraud to Google:

This is a good case study for anyone wondering how tech-savvy scammers can takeover a high-traffic niche on Google Maps in a major city using fake reviews, while intimidating whistleblowers– especially in developing countries where law enforcement might be unreliable…Feb 1, 2025 at 12:47am #39042SeanGuestpathetic but a great case study indeed.
Feb 1, 2025 at 12:48am #39043JoyceGuest100 on G Maps, and what 400 on Trustpilot now deleted? lol damn how many fake a*s reviews does this company have time to write

Looks like more than 200 reviews are now deleted, they are barely over 1,300 reviews now on Google Maps and dropping daily.
Did someone at the Google Thailand office finally wake up?
