    Garret is the corrupt shitbag mayor of tiny Oberlin, Kansas, which sits right on the border with Nebraska. Despite having only 1,000 residents, it is amazingly incorporated as a city, which has it’s own court, Oberlin Court, and it’s own sheriff… you see where this is going.

    After 6 months driving around the country, and 10 years without ever receiving a ticket, I was pulled over by the Oberlin sheriff outside of city limits (illegal) for allegedly “speeding” somewhere back within their city limits, which was supposedly documented by an unmanned radar machine (no photos or videos, just a mysterious radar machine).

    The sheriff claimed I was “flagged” going 45 in a 30 zone, despite the fact I was behind both a pickup truck, a red light, and a big rig truck, on a small 2 lane road that passes thru their town… coincidentally, I was an out of state driver.

    The sheriff pretended to be really nice, said he would call me about the ticket since I was leaving the country soon. Months later, I discovered that Oberlin had mailed the ticket fine to my address, and knowing that hiring a Kansas lawyer who was licensed and able to practice in this tiny town was next to impossible after asking multiple lawyers, I contacted the court to pay the fine… they then doubled the money I “owed” claiming that it was late I had to pay reinstatement fees, which directly violates the NVC interstate compact that Kansas and my home state are party to.

    It’s been over a year now of me emailing with Oberlin’s city attorneys, who refused to respond after repeated requests from the court, and KDOR (Kansas DMV), who have changed their story no less than a dozen times.

    I warned Garret and his corrupt cronies that I would be publicly exposing their scam if they didn’t cancel the illegal fees they were demanding from me. By the way, guess who the only established law office in Oberlin Kansas is? You guessed it, Hirsch & Pratt LLP… the same firm who is contracted with the City of Oberlin to be their retained city attorneys!
