BACKGROUND
This disability discrimination action arises out of the
termination of plaintiff Albert Lee Hubbell by the BBB on December
5, 2008. Hubbell began working at the BBB as president and CEO in
March 2006. Hubbell reported to the chair of the Board of
Directors (Board) and an Executive Committee composed of Board
officers and other Board members. During Hubbell’s tenure, the BBB
increased revenues, and he received positive evaluations and annual
increases in salary and bonuses from the Board.
In May 2008, Hubbell told a number of his employees, including
Barb Grieman, that he had been diagnosed with bipolar disorder. 3
See Schmid Aff. ¶ 3; Hubbell Dep. 167. Hubbell also told Board
chair-elect Anne Gallagher, who told Executive Committee members
John Bruder and John Packard. In July 2008, Hubbell hired Leslie
Baughn, with whom he had previously worked in Nashville. She and
Hubbell introduced a “Trust Card” for employees to use as part of
payroll. Hubbell was aware that Baughn was having an affair with
the owner of the Trust Card business, but did not disclose this
relationship to the Board. See Hubbell Dep. 104-05; Gallagher Dep.
133-35.

I got the same experience from Council of Better Business Bureaus, Inc. (CBBB). I had a complaint against BBB of Southern Piedmont, Inc.
yelp.com/biz/better-busi… 1 But the CBBB staff, Leslie Baughn, Mgr, Operational Standards & Assessment.  closed the complaint quicklyand said she had completely reviewed the complaint. However, she couldn’t answer anything when I asked her about my complaint details. I asked to speak to a supervisor at the headquarters. Beverly Baskin called me. I got exactly same experience as what another complainant got “Beverly Baskin is gaming the whole time acting like she wouldn’t be able to get or understand what I am saying. So I confronted Beverly
Baskin for playing games. She finally has to call the game an end. After no longer being able to act like she couldn’t understand or what I am saying doesn’t make sense, she finally couldn’t say it is not within the scope any more.”ripoffreport.com/reports…2 Very very disappoint with CBBB, they help nothing to improve BBB.

  1. Jesse Nickles says:

2 years ago I reported to Leslie that BBB Southern Nevada was not only refusing to delete my (retired) company’s profile from their website, but was deleting positive reviews of my company from verified customers while publishing fake “negative” reviews that directly violated their own Terms of use contract.

For example, a serial stalker of mine Naveed Moein, was pretending to be my customer on the BBB website. Another random guy was convinced by (or paid?) by Naveed to do the same thing from an IP address in Texas, also never my customer.

Leslie initially sanctioned Rhonda Mettler for deleting my public responses to several reviews, but to this day the “fake” reviews exist on the profile and despite my LLC expiring way back in 2013, more fake reviews continue to be published about me. As someone involved in various online projects including software and Hucksters (this fraud tracking database) a lot of people have reason to lash out.

Don’t take my word for it… Leslie was also caught having a sexual affair while making a business deal on behalf of BBB with the owner of “Trust Card” and then sued over the corruption of the entire process:

Let this stand as definitive proof that the BBB is not some well-meaning non-profit charity… they are a business, and their sales agents called me 2 years ago trying to get me to join their membership after this all started getting published on my profile.

*The vast majority of people listed in this database are just “normal” business people, therefore no negative connotation is insinuated nor should misdeeds be assumed based on existing in our business directory. Our underlying goal is exposing misdeeds and fraud, but to accomplish this we often must first identity “honest” business people. This is because of things like similar names, impersonation, copyright infringement, and other reasons. Thus, the vast majority of people in our database are not being accused of anything shady. For this reason, profiles are now “noindexed” by default until comments exist on any given profile, since many of them are unnotable.
